E-LEARNING

All things long and educational. E-Learning has rapidly become an even bigger deal than it already was since the pandemic, what with all the being at home.

If such a word can be used to describe the recording of voiceovers, E-Learning is my cosy genre. I really enjoy sitting down and methodically working my way through a great big course on AGILE-ness, Financial Option Trading, or just plain old secondary school Algebra.

How much do e-learning Voiceovers cost?

For shorter projects I usually start off around £0.15-0.20/word, then as scripts get longer the price per word goes down, as a thank you for the meaty job to be getting on with.

I’m not a dragon, and I hardly breathe fire at all, so if your budget is a bit tighter just message me anyway, and we’ll work something out. I’ve got 2 beautiful sustainable Dutch Wool jumpers in my wardrobe from a previous client when they were low on funds starting out. This wasn’t a bribe, they make them!!

All E-learning sessions are billed as a minimum of £100, so try to collect a few smaller scripts together if you can. This is nothing nefarious, it’s just so I don’t have to send over an invoice for £1.35 for one line in an ESL video.

Why hire George for your E-learning Voiceover?

I focus on keeping the process smooth and stress-free. I’ll first send over a 5-minute sample for feedback on the tone and pace, then when that’s got a thumbs up I’ll set about the project in earnest. I’ll do my own research on the pronunciation and terms as best I can, to reduce needless back and forth.

On your end, you’re either project-managing 40,000 words being lined up with visuals, and double checked by Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) constantly, whilst also trying to keep everything engaging OR doing the lining up yourself… so it’s really important my side of things doesn’t take up any effort or time.

I’ve got a good voice for educational voicework, it’s easy to listen to for long periods of time. As well as being confident enough to be assuring, without being patronising or alienating. I was forever a difficult child, always feeling patronised and talked down to by adults, so I’m waging a personal crusade against the practise.

What is E-learning Voiceover?

Textbooks translated into the AV world, basically. Lectures too, although these are mostly done by the professors they originate from.

Anything teaching, instead of convincing (like Commercial), or conveying (like Corporate).
